Korea's Andong City's Hahoe Village and Gyeongju City's Yangdong village made it to the UNESCO

In July 2010, Korea's Andong City's Hahoe Village and Gyeongju City's Yangdong village made it to the UNESCO. And after that those two historical villages has emerged as international tourist attractions, and the tourists visiting there are increasing constantly.
Andong City's Hahoe Village is a folk village located in Hahoe-ri, Pungcheon-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongbuk.
This place, which was a region of Confucian scholars from the past, has valuable cultural heritage as well as national treasures. Because of this, it was designated as Folk Conservation Village in January, 1984.
There is a saying that the Heo family settled early, and later the Ahn family, and then the Pungsan Yu family made a kinship village here.
And approximately 130 big and small historic traditional houses which are 300~500 years old are conserved, and we can get a sense of the life of the society with the caste system in the past. The representative houses are Bukchondaek, Yangjindang, Cunghyodang, Namchondaek.
This region's famous Hahoe-byeolsingut-talnori is an old handed-down amusement. The Hahoe-tal is national treasure no. 121. I'll tell you about Hahoe-byeolsingut-talnori next time.
Our family started at 5 pm and arrived in Andong at 9 pm. We booked a place where it was a filming location of a drama named as, 'Toji', because we thought that it would be better for us to sleep in an old house as we headed to Andong.
An old house? An old house means a Korean Traditional House. I also slept in a Korean Traditional House before. Years ago, I attended a camp during cold winter and almost froze. The reason was that everyone didn't know how to turn on the boiler. Our ancestors replenished fire in the furnace using a Korean Underfloor Heating System known as, 'Ondol'. But these days the houses are all improved and uses oil or gas boiler.
The old house, where we arrived late at night, was a stately Traditional House. The room where we will stay was a little small, but we could lay our tired body on the warm floor.
